High school students playing sports or professional athletes can benefit from treatment with Wasatch Peak. We will work with your extremely physical lifestyle and help you complete specific exercises to limit common pain, like knee or leg pain. We understand the repetitive motions of those playing sports, allowing us to customize exercises to your needs.

Workouts in the water are less stressful on the body, which is great for those with joint pain or recent surgeries. Aquatic therapy can help improve your range of motion by working out the muscles, causing less pain during a physical therapy appointment, and promoting faster healing.
Wasatch Peak Physical Therapy also specializes in women’s health, specifically pelvic floor therapy. This can help with incontinence, constipation, pelvic pain, and postpartum changes. Our experts don’t just focus on a band-aid solution, but rather on providing actual long-term relief, treating the root cause of pelvic floor disorders.

Knee Pain
One of the most common pain points for adults and athletes is knee pain. There is a range of knee problems that can occur from walking, running, playing sports, or workplace injuries. Our physical therapists will work to limit knee pain, improve movement, and prevent further bone deterioration.
NECK PAIN
When your spine is deregulated or out of alignment, your neck can experience pain as a result. Whiplash is also a common neck strain that can be improved with proper physical therapy techniques. We can help improve your range of motion and help you sleep better by limiting neck pain.
Shoulder Pain
Neck pain, spinal misalignments, or repetitive movements can cause severe shoulder pain. The nerves in your neck and shoulders can send radiating pain down your arms as well. Physical therapists will focus on stiffness, nerve damage, and muscle tension when treating shoulder pain.
Elbow Pain
We use our elbows more than we might realize, including driving, working, typing, cleaning, and more. Repetitive movements can lead to elbow pain that makes your daily tasks more inconvenient. Physical therapists can help with strains and sprains of all kinds to help your day run smoothly.
Foot Pain
Our legs and feet carry us to many different places, which makes them more susceptible to pain than anywhere else on the body. Foot pain can be difficult to manage especially when you may be on your feet for a job, as a parent, or student. Physical therapy can work on pressure points in your feet and help build stronger muscles to reduce foot pain.
Back Pain
Lower back pain is extremely common but can be caused by a number of things. Osteoporosis, pinched nerves, or herniated discs can result in painful movements. Physical therapists will find the root cause of your back pain to provide long-term relief. Bending, lifting, and even sitting will be easier when you treat your back pain with physical therapy.
Hip Pain
Hip joints are some of the most frequently used in the body. They allow us to walk, run, sit, dance, and more. Working out, sitting for long periods, and daily chores are made more difficult when hip pain is present. Stretches, specialized movements, and pushing the joints just beyond their limits will help reduce pain and inflammation in your hips.
Ankle Pain
Using our feet all day long can put strain on your ankles. Physical therapists can focus on inflammation and misused muscles in the ankle to help you feel better while doing your favorite activities. Athletes and every day people can benefit from physical therapy for ankle pain.
Hand Pain
Repeated motions like typing, writing, tool cranking, or construction can put strain on your hands. If you are using your hands all day long, seeking physical therapy from Wasatch peak can help make your day pain free. Limit nerve pain, strained muscles, or wrist pain with our expert techniques.

PATIENT TOOLS TO HELP GET YOU STARTED
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Physical Therapy Painful?
No, some patients experience soreness or discomfort during the appointment, but it should not be painful. If physical therapy is painful, your body may not be ready for that specific stretch or treatment yet. Communicate with your therapist about what techniques cause pain or which ones just leave your muscles sore the next day.
How Long And How Often Will I Need Physical Therapy?
Your treatment time will depend on the severity and placement of your injury. Minor injuries can typically be treated in about 4 to 6 weeks, with 1 session a week. Other major injuries or problems in multiple areas can result in 2 sessions a week for up to 6 months. Chronic conditions may receive treatment for longer, but with sporadic sessions needed when flare ups occur or you are preparing for a large physical activity.
Do I Need A Referral From My Doctor?
A physician’s referral is not required for you to get physical therapy, but some insurance plans will require a doctor’s note or referral if you want them to cover treatment. You can seek physical therapy on your own without a referral as physical therapists will work with you to determine the underlying cause of your pain or muscle weakness.
Can Physical Therapy Help Improve Older Patients’ Daily Movement?
Yes! As your body starts to slow down, moving around your home to complete daily tasks can be tiring. Older patients who take part in regular physical therapy can keep their muscles and bones strong, while also giving them techniques to improve regular movements and prevent broken bones.
